Judge Fairbank was nominated by President George W. Bush on January 9, 2007, to a seat vacated by the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall. Her nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 1, 2007, and she received her commission on February 16, 2007.Judge Fairbank received her B.A. in 1971 and M.A. in 1972 from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She received her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1975.
