The Catalogue of Copyright Entries appears each week. As the weekly Issue of Part 3 would necessitate a possible search through 52 alphabets In each year In order to locate the title of any given musical composition. It has been suggested to avoid this Inconvenience that the alphabet for Part 3 (musical compositions) be made to Include all the titles entered during each month. Instead of each week, so that a search for any musical work deposited for copyright during the year would require an examination of only 12 Indexes Instead of 52, as formerly. To save space the copyright notice after each title Is abbreviated. Every entry In the Catalogue implies the deposit of coplea, the title of no musical work being included In the Catalogl-e unless copies are on file, but if the copies have been received on the date as the day of entry the statement of the receipt of copies on that date is not repeated but Is understood. The notice after the first title. If printed In full, would read " Copyright by Friedrich Hofmeister, Leipzig, Germany. Class C, XXc, no. 174745, Feb. 20, 1908; 2 copies received Feb. 20, 1908."
