They will soon get used to it--only just heard it read When they have tasted of the fruit they will sing for joy, and bless their King." The Queen: "This is the day we are to try the New Cook, without the handers and tastingmaids. We shall soon gain some experience as to how many cooks it takes to spoil our broth." King: "Yes, broth; did you order broth for dinner?" Queen: "No, my love; who was there to order it of?" King: "The Cooks, of course." Queen: "We have no Cooks now, you know." King: "But we have a Cooker." Queen: "Oh yes, of course; I suppose I must order it of the Oven who is the Cooker?" The Queen rings the bell. "Groom of the Chambers " "Here, your Majesty." "The King wishes to have broth as well as pie for his dinner. Convey this information to the Cooker, whose name is oven." "Yes, your Majesty." The King: "My love, did you see any shirts and socks in my room; I wish you would look; I did not see one shirt just now, and I should like to change." The Queen runs to look: pulls out first one drawer then another, looks in wardrobe, under the bed, and on top of the canopy, in all the cupboards, and out of all the cupboards, and could not find a single shirt.
