Retina Recognition - Secure Biometric Authentication System (Paperback)

,
This book focuses automated retina recognition system as a biometrically based technology for personal identification and verification. This book is concerned with the retina recognition by neural network. The motivation for this endeavor stems from the observation that the human retina provides a particularly interesting structure on which to base a technology for noninvasive biometric assessment. Human retina images are acquiesces by using retina scanner. These images are scaled (i.e. the start point and end point detection) by using the digital image processing technique. Then the scaled form of image is filtered by using highpass filtering. Finally, the features are extracted from the filtered form of image and the extracted image features are fed to the neural network for learning. The recognition of unknown retina image is then performed by comparing this special pattern to the pattern for which an image module is already built.
