For the proud, independent, family-oriented, black man living in
the south during the height of the Civil Rights Movement, working
long hours everyday and raising a family seems hard enough. But
when you factor in the mindless threats, the acts of torture and
the horrific lynchings committed by the Ku Klux Klan, a man's life
becomes much more difficult. Louis "Gran" Jordan has been pushed
beyond the brink of tolerance. As he fights for the honor of his
family, he is ultimately shot and left for dead by two Klansmen.
Gran takes a stand and achieves what all of black America strives
for- respect. Even though he realizes the magnitude of the
consequences that he may face for standing up for what he so
strongly believes in, Gran doesn't hesitate one second when the
time comes to do what he feels is right.
