This act shall take immediate effect. Approved January 28, 1859. [ No. 27. ] AN ACT to extend the time for the collection of taxea in the township of Erie, in the county of Monroe. Sectioh 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That the time for the collection of taxes in the township Time - of Erie, in the county of Monroe, for the year eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, is hereby extended to the first Monday of March next. Sec. 2. The treasurer of said township is hereby author- D7 f ized and empowered to proceed and collect said taxes as fully as he could have done during the lifetime of his warrant, and make his return at any time on or before the first Monday of March next; and the said warrant is hereby continued in full force and virtue, for the purpose aforesaid, until the said first Monday of March next. Sec. 3. It shall be the duty of the said treasurer, before is. he shall be entitled to the benefits of this act, to pay over all moneys collected during the lifetime of his warrant as is now provided by law, and to renew his official bond to the satisfaction of the treasurer of the county of Monroe. Sec. 4. A transcript of all unpaid taxes returned to the unpaid tu- county treasurer in pursuance of the foregoing provisions, turned, shall be returned to the Auditor General by the first day of April next, and such unpaid taxes shall be collected in the same manner, and with interest computed from the same time as other taxes for the year eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, duly returned to the Auditor General for non-payment.
