One of the best cookbooks yet! Absolutely enthralled, I cannot put it down. Ming manages to find a balance between cookbook and casual conversation about her culture and history. It feels like stepping into the kitchen of the author and having a cup of tea, a hug and a good conversation. So excited to try the recipes such as the soups and fried rice. Utterly grateful for the etiquette lessons as well!

Fantastic cookbook - makes the Taiwanese cuisine accessible. It is also full of heart with sincere portrayal of an immigrant story and how she found root in the rainbow nation.❤️

A heart-warming glimpse into Ming-Cheau’s family roots and how her multi-cultural upbringing influenced her in the kitchen. Especially nostalgic are the many dishes her parents and grandparents shared with and taught her and how she’s adapted some of them slightly to accommodate South African ingredients. I am particularly excited about making the sacha sauce lamb & spinach! Genuinely written, with a unique story that she shares willingly and graciously, Ming-Cheau’s first recipe book is a complete delight.

I am so excited that there is FINALLY a locally published book on East Asian cuisine. The recipes are easy to understand and the author makes use of ingredients that are available in South Africa. Her dishes are inexpensive to prepare and she offers great tips. My favourite dish so far - Three Cup Chicken!
