The Omnipresence of Walter Bagehot (Paperback)

The Rt Hon Norman St John-Stevas was appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford to deliver the 1987 Romanes Lecture on a subject relating to science, art or literature. He chose to devote his lecture to Walter Bagehot, whose "Collected Works" he edited and whom he describes as "my revered and... intimate companion for over a quarter of a century".
