This is the biography of Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton, artist and
philanthropist, who, with her husband, Harold Colton, led the
creation of the Museum of Northern Arizona in 1928. Hers is the
story of a woman born to wealth and privilege who used her
advantages to contribute to a greater understanding of and
appreciation for the Native arts and cultures of the Southwest.
Mary-Russell Ferrell Colton contributed to the region's culture as
few others have.
