Green is the son of saxophonist Benny Green and the actress Toni Kanal. He read English Literature at St John's College, Oxford. After graduation, he worked as a professional jazz guitarist, playing with his father, and John Dankworth, Doris Troy, Kym Mazelle plus the James Taylor Quartet. He is a manager at Ronnie Scott's jazz club. Benny Green was a British jazz saxophonist, who was best known by the public for his radio shows and books.
