George Edward Trafton (December 6, 1896 - September 5, 1971), a member of the American Pro Football Hall of Fame, was a center for the Decatur Staleys (now known as the Chicago Bears) of the National Football League from 1920 to 1921 and 1923-1932. He is credited as being the first center to snap the ball with one hand. Trafton's football skills first came to notice when he played at Oak Park River Forest High School, then named Oak Park High, in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park. He was the head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Western Interprovincial Football Union from 1951 to 1953. He attended the University of Notre Dame.
