Examining the diverse aspects of women's engagement with peace politics, this volume is divided into three sections - ideas and ideologies, movements, and voices. Each section analyzes: the different perceptions of women on peace and the desire for peace irrespective of ideology; structured practices and interventions such as mothers' movements in Sri Lanka and India; and, the lives of ordinary women for whom peace has more to do with everyday battles against gender-based repression.
