The 2009 revision comprehensively addresses current questions on
settlement contracts (A 779) relevant to practice. The particularly
complicated questions that arise with the issuance of an abstract
promise to fulfill an obligation (AA 780-782), for example with a
credit secured by a right in land or banking transactions, are
approached in a solution-oriented manner. The often broad-minded
court interpretations are also critically analyzed.
