Comprehensive Electrocardiology (Hardcover, 2nd ed. 2010)

There is no accurate record of the number of electrograms recorded annually across the world, but it remains one of the most commonly used non-invasive investigations in the diagnostic armamentarium of the physician, despite or perhaps because of advances made in other techniques. There is evidence to suggest that the numbers of electrograms ordered has risen exponentially in the 1970-1990s and continues to rise today as cardiologists recognize the value of such a direct physiological measure of heart health.

Over the past century, there have been many good publications on the subject of electrocardiology. However, the first edition of this book represented a major contribution to the field. From the outset, the Editors aim was to collate as much as possible of the diverse aspects of the topic into one publication which could become a major reference resource for many years. The field of electrocardiology is not standing still and therefore in the 14 years since this first edition was published, much has occurred and this new edition is extremely timely.

This new edition of this key reference work summarizes the current knowledge of all aspects of theoretical and practical electrocardiology with particular emphasis on the interpretation of the electrocardiogram. The initial volume concentrates on the more theoretical aspects of the topic, as these form the foundations on which further advance is likely to be made. The second and third volumes of the book deal with the more clinical aspects of recording and interpreting the electrocardiogram, with the third volume concentrating on some of the specialized though no less important aspects of electrocardiology and electrocardiography.
