Video Set 1 - Lesson 1 introduces the technical discipline of rope rescue and the proper hardware and software components for basic rope rescue, Rope rescue continues with single rope systems for rappelling, controlled descent devices and self-rescue techniques. We conclude our series on basic rope rescue skills with an introduction to rigging the rope for double-rope techniques. Video Set 2 - Part 1 focuses on the procedures for safely securing the rope and equipment to suitable anchor sites. In Part 2, we concentrate on how to ascend a fixed rope using soft rope grabs and mechanical ascenders. Part 3 of intermediate rope rescue skills focuses on load sharing and various rope grab techniques. Methods of releasing a rope or load under tension and double rope techniques for lowering a load are the focuses of Part 4. Part 5 continues our intermediate rope rescue skills series with mechanical advantage systems. Our 6 part intermediate rope rescue skills series concludes with the proper procedure to rig a mechanical advantage system and back-up delay. Video Set 3 - Lesson 1 focuses on advanced rope rescue techniques. We demonstrate mechanical advantage systems and the proper procedure for packaging a patient into an integrated patient packaging system (IPPS). Part Two continues with a demonstration on tensioned roped systems and tensioned traverse systems.
