Advancing Human Resource Project Management (Hardcover)

This volume reflects evidence based practice for managing HRM projects. As such, each chapter will be prepared by a well-respected author who has first- hand experience managing a successful HRM project and each case will reflect a real business problem the contributor has particular expertise in, such as: the design, development and implementation of a performance management platform, the creation of a human resource management information system, or the initiation of a new assessment tool. Cases emphasize the implications for and challenges of providing solutions to HR business problems that must be sensitive to and work well in a global business environment. Each case will also describe just how this was done to ensure partners (e.g. subcontractors, vendors, suppliers) are well vetted, aligned and coordinated. Structured around the project life cycle, cases will include how the project originated, the way that the project's scope and budget were established, and details on how the work on the project was bid and awarded. Finally, each case will show how the project was concluded, including the way that the project's output implemented. Each case shows the challenges inherent in each phase of the project and summarizes what we know from research and practice regarding how best to address these challenges. I. INTRODUCTIONChapter 1.
