This connection to be made on boiler side of swing check valve in each feed fine. Pump.--Furnish and install in boiler room one 5 by 3h by 5 inch duplex Worthington, or equal, boiler feed pump, suitable for 150 pounds working pressure. Pump to be full brass lined on the steam end, and the water cylinder lining, valve seats, rod box glands, and nuts to be of phosphor bronze and the piston rods of Tobin bronze. Pump must be placed on a substantial concrete foundation and be properly connected to steam, exhaust, and water lines with a by-pass connection to cold-water service direct. All connections to be run full size and properly valved. Pump to be equipped with a Copes, or equal, pump governor, with a controlling valve in each steam line, and so connected as to be controlled by pressure in main boiler feed line. Stack.--Furnish and install approximately 100 feet of-inch steel stack with approved breeching connection, base plate, and top. Stack must conform to requirements of brick flue in which it is placed and will be 4 feet in diameter unlined and secured to brick walls at suitable intervals. Breeching.--The boilers must be connected with the above stack by a breeching of No. 8 United States standard gauge black iron, lined throughout except bottom, with 2 inches of vitrified air cell flue lining, tightly secured to the metal walls.
