Violent Computer Games - Its Effect to the Behavior of Nursing Students (Paperback)


This research suggests that getting consumed with computer games creates trouble. Players may exhibit some symptoms of computer rage such as yelling at the computer, pounding at the keyboard, slapping the speakers, and worst of all venting their anger on other people. In short, aggressive behavior tends to be evident. Filipino nurses have been established as one of the most in-demand and competitive nurses in the world, and is often praised for their warm and caring attitude to their patients. Proliferation of internet cafe that offers violent games is pleasing to the eyes of young adolescents particularly the nursing students. Continuous playing of these violent games are threatening which may adversely affects the behavior of the students nurses especially when they are attending to their patients and if this threat continues the TLC (Tender Loving Care) traits of Filipino nurses will be compromised. The main focus of this study is to determine the effects of violent computer games to the behavior of selected nursing students of San Pablo City and the result of the study was used by the researcher in formulating a health teaching program.
