Teak (Tectona grandisI is most important timber crop in Gujarat state of India. it is attacked by many insect-pests right from the nursery to the cutting stage. Amongst them, Teak defoliator (Hyblaea puera) and teak skeletonizer (Eutectona machaeralisz) are one of the most important insect-pests which remain active mostly during monsoon months. It is difficult to control these pests in old plantations so, selecting clones which are resistant orless suceptible is the most vital option of pest management. The research has highlighted the identification of teak clones on the basis of morphological, biochemical and nutritional characters which ulktimately proves R.H. Painter's theory of resistance and conforms non-preference and antibiosis type of resistance in the selected clones.
