Sing the God of Ultimate Justice: Audio CD (CD)

Subtitled "Music for the End Time", this audio CD features a broad spectrum of music, from Gregorian chant to the composers of the 20th century. The selections in "Sing the God of Ultimate Justice" convey the thoughts of the Church concerning the four last things. The doctrines of the Christian faith are dealt with in a multi-faceted way in the music of the Church. Where poetry marries melody, harmony and rhythm, the challenge and comfort of the Gospel enter the heart and the mind through doors that might otherwise be closed to sermon and catechesis. Nowhere is this more evident than in the music appointed for the end times: the last four weeks of the Church's year of grace. During the last weeks of ordinary time, the attention of the faithful is turned to the parousia, the return of Christ at the end of time to judge the living and the dead. The readings of the lectionary invite readers to examine their ways of living and dealing with God and one another. The ultimate realities of human existence - the four last things: death judgment, hell and heaven - are the subjects of contemplation during these weeks of late November.
