THE PROTECTOR grants to Sir JAMES JONSTON of Westiraw, knight, and Dame MARGARET BANNANTYNE, his spouse, and the longest liver, in conjunct fee, and the heirs gotten betwixt them, whom failing to the said Sir James his heirs and assignees whomsoever, --the 12-merk land of Daldurcham, with the manor place, mills, woods, fishings, &c., thereof, in the parish of Westerkirk, lordship of Eskdaill, and sheriffdom of Dumfries, and to the said Sir James and his heirs and assignees whomsoever, the lands of Glendoning, comprehending the half of the lands of Cordlaw, Westerker, Selholme, and Sewray, in the lordship of Eskdaill and sheriffdom of Dumfries, as for the principal, and in warrandice thereof the said lands of Cordlaw, being part of the said lands of Glendoning, the lands of Curtcluch, Glencrash, Glenshirmell, Iffgill, Woodend, Dalduram, and Carratscheildis, mills, mill-lands, &c., of the same, and the lands of Harthope with the pertinents thereof;--which lands pertained to the said Sir James Jonston, and to James, now Earl of Hartfell, as son and heir of the deceased James Earl of Hartfell, and to Mr Johne Allexander, parson of..., respectively, and were on 28th July 1654 resigned by them in favour of the said Sir James and his said spouse and their foresaids, instruments taken in the hands of Johne Sempill, writer to the signet;--one sasine to be sufficient: --To Be Held of the Protector for the services used and wont: --With precept of sasine. lix. 72. 474-Edinburgh, January 18.
