Mr. Magee was born January 4, 1845, on the same farm which is now his home, -and which has been the scenes of his labors for many years. He is the third son born to Abner and Elizabeth (Riley) Magee, and is a grandson of Robert Magee. Abner Magee was also a native of Marietta township, where he was born in 1822. The early part of his life was spent as pilot of a flatboat on the Ohio River. In 1875, he moved west, to Lancaster County, Nebraska, and followed farming until cut off bv death, April 2, 1889.
