Lavishly illustrated with works by acclaimed artists as diverse as Henry Moore, Paula Rego, David Hockney, Ken Kiff, Elisabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth, Ceri Richards and Man Ray, this book tells the story of the establishment of the Curwen Studio and the development of Stanley Jones' career as an artist printmaker. The Curwen Studio is a unique organisation in fine art printing for artists/photographers and has an outstanding international reputation. This printmaking studio for artists was established in 1958 under the management of Stanley Jones, and has been the birthplace of a number of exciting new developments in printmaking over the years since. Many important lithographs have been produced there, by artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Graham Sutherland, Elisabeth Frink, Alan Davie, Josef Herman and John Piper. The Tate Gallery in London has recognised the important contribution made by the studio and has established its own 'Curwen Archive'. In 2008 the Studio celebrated it's 50th anniversary.
