The enrolled customs accounts contain virtually unbroken records of the amounts of wool, wool fells and hides exported from England (from 1278), cloth exports (from 1303 for aliens, from 1347 also for indigenous merchants), wine imports and movements of general merchandise not subsumed under other categories (from 1347) and run well into the 16th century. It goes without saying that they have been utilized extensively for the study of national, regional and local trade. The calendar includes information on any and all revenues the customers derived which made up the royal income (the Summa recepte is also included), but does not record the payments effected by the customers.
