Random Thoughts of a Menopausal Mind - Memoirs of a Pragmatic Non-Conformist Baby Boomer Housewife or How We Got Lost on the Way to Wherever It Was We (Paperback)

Are you a woman of the baby boomer age bracket wondering what happened to all those years that seemed to have just flown by? Are you getting tired of the phrase," just going through menopause," even if you have been going through it . . . for what seems like an eternity? Do you think that life is just about getting through it? What in the world happened to honesty, respecting your elders, and helping your neighbor that was the benchmark of your childhood? Are you wondering if you ever accomplished anything that really mattered that much? Are you thinking about all that stuff. . . or are you just wondering where you put that birthday card for your Aunt Jo that you know you just bought yesterday?
At the height of her own menopausal madness, artist Suzi Pittman Tompkins began jotting down her thoughts about not only what she was going through, but also where she had been. As she began reflecting on her life, she pondered the lives of baby boomer women across America.
"Random Thoughts of a Menopausal Mind" captures the essence of many women who grew up in the tumultuous time of the sixties, got married, had children, went back to work, and became empty-nesters with grandchildren. Her thoughts are humorous, yet poignant. Although this book of essays is gathered from her life, most of you will see yourselves in them. Suzi's reflections reveal the simple truth that each of our lives has value based upon who we are, not what we have done. Whether you are a menopausal baby boomer, or the daughter of one, you'll find Random Thoughts worth the read.
Suzi Pittman Tompkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education degree from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently an artist, wife, mother, grandmother, and now first time author living in South Carolina. After spending the last ten years as a painter of whimsical impressions, Suzi is enjoying exploring new creative energies as well as speaking to women on a variety of venues. She also spends as much time as possible with her husband, Richard, as well as her family, friends, and eleven grandchildren. And yes, Suzi is a menopausal survivor
