Kalpana Kartik (original name Mona Singha) is a former Hindi film actress. She starred in five films in the 1950s. She is the wife of actor and film maker Dev Anand. Mona Singha was a college beauty queen from Simla, (now Shimla). She studied in St. Bede's College, Simla. She was introduced to films by Chetan Anand of Navketan Films for the film Baazi in 1951, in which she co-starred with her then future husband actor Dev Anand, with whom she starred in all her subsequent films. Her screen name of Kalpana Kartik was given by Chetan during this career launch.
