What a great read, this is only my second non disc-world book written by Terry Pratchett that I have read so far. It starts out Kin works for the company and they build planets, but some were built by older aliens if you would like to call it that, every thing is done the way it should be with round planets orbiting around a star. Until the discovery of the disc, nothing seems right with the disc, nothing is made as it should have been made, all is backwards, and the disc people need a new place to live. This is Terry Pratchett first introduction to the disc-world to his readers at the time, something that would spiral into a huge success and a huge following of readers and Pratchettism. The read of the book is great, just do not go into it thinking in the back of your mind it would be exactly like the disc-world books, because it is not, read it open minded. If I must give one negative remark is that the book should have been longer, it ends a bit to abruptly and could have done with more explanation at the end, otherwise a full 5/5
