He participated at the 2011 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Slovenia men's national ice hockey team. The Slovenian men's national ice hockey team, also known as the Lynx (Slovene: Risi), is currently ranked 18th in the world by IIHF as of the 2011 IIHF World Ranking. The team is controlled by the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. Slovenia has only 943 players (the second lowest after Lithuania in the top 25 world rankings). Their best ever record is 13th place and highest ranking is 15th. Their current coach is Matja Kopitar, father of NHL player An e Kopitar.
