Leaving the ballroom, he went through the hotel kitchen after being told it was a shortcut, despite being advised to avoid the kitchen by his bodyguard, FBI agent Bill Barry. In a crowded kitchen passageway, Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Christian Palestinian, opened fire with a .22-caliber revolver; Kennedy was hit three times. Following the shooting, Kennedy was first rushed to Los Angeles's Central Receiving Hospital and then to the City's Good Samaritan Hospital where he died early the next morning. Many Americans did not agree with their philosophy and many did. Eventually, the country came together and changed status quo with the leadership of President Lyndon B. Johnson. United States has overcame segregation. We are now judged by the content of our character instead of the color of our skin. "I do not know who planned the assassinations.
