Musings - Questions and Observations (Paperback)

For years, Tom Poteet has been questioning formalized religion. Since his youth, he has wondered why the Christian Church failed to concentrate on Christ, instead spending the bulk of its time teaching the Epistles of Paul. Though readings from the Gospels and Epistles were given, in church, sermons seemed to be concentrated on what Paul had written; not what Jesus had said and done. In Poteet's decades of questioning, prayer and writing, he has been able to put some of his harder questions down on paper, questions concerning why religions separate the very children of our Father; what happens when adults do not teach the children about the Love of our Father and, instead, concentrate on the vengeance of God; or do not teach about God at all; or, worse, give the children examples of hate, treachery and mistrust. These examples forever make it difficult for the child to understand the Love of the Father. It has become easier, over the years, for Poteet to understand what has happened to religion. He still does not, however, understand why it has happened. Musings is not a book for the Christian who is firm in his or her faith. It is not a book for those whose relationship with their Father is strong. Musings is a book for those who still have questions about their faith . . . or about their lack of faith. Musings is a book for those who are still searching for answers . . . for those who lack a personal relationship with their Father in Heaven and do not know why . . . for those who want a personal relationship and feel separated for whatever reason. Poteet had planned to make Musings the second book in his collection. His notes were started shortly after The Winds of Change. But, as he approached his questions and observations, it became harder and harder for him to expound on his concerns. They are personal and others may be offended. The last thing he wanted is for someone to lose their faith. He only wants to bring those who have no faith or have lost their faith to the realization that our Father exists and Loves us dearly. Through Musings, Poteet hopes to show the Hand of the Father reaching down to His children . . . with His Love, His Forgiveness and His Tender Mercies.
