The present list has only twelve--one James, being omitted. In the Brussels manuscript he appears as James, Apostle = Finnian of Moviile. F.--A Hymn In Two Languages. The following is a specimen of Irish sacred poetry by Maelisu O'Brolchain (1086) from the Lebar Brecc (fourteenth century).1 Each verse has four lines--two consisting of a Latin line repeated, and two of an Irish line repeated. In the following translation the English of each is given instead of the repetition of the line: -- "My God, my God, to Thee I flee, Deus mens adjuva me. O give Thy love, I humbly pray, Tuc dam do shtrc a mate mo dl. Into my heart, though still unfit, In maim cor ut sanum sit. Pour Thou Thy love that I may live, Tuc a rt rin do grad co gribb. Lord, grant me what I ask of Thee, Domine da quoti feto a te. O give, Thou Sun of brilliant ray, Tnc, '1 uc co dian a grian glan gU. This thing I ever seeking am, Hanc spero rem et quart)...
