Description RED is the last instalment in Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colours trilogy. In Red a fashion model, played by Irene Jacob, named Valentine accidentally runs over a dog, she returns the injured animal to its indifferent owner, a world weary former judge, played by Jean-Louis Trintignant, who likes to listen in on his neighbours phone conversations. Out of this chance encounter Valentine see's the world that exist's out side that which she knows and takes a certain interest in the existence of people with whom she would not necessarily concern herself with. She realises that her own troubles of a runaway brother, a dysfunctional family and a distant lover are rather mundane problems.
