As the direct heir of his father's duchy in Lancaster fifteen-year-old Bradley Whittam always knew that his future was assured. An elder monk named Calderan rescued Bradley and taught him in their ways, convincing him to take the role of 'Watcher' on Earth. The earl was to learn skills far in advance of anything on Earth, skills that would change his life forever.
