November 20, Mrs. Crosse read from St. John 2: 23, 24, 25. Taking Christ's Ministry for our example, she said that we have a constant work to do; the positive work, however, begins when we are trying to realize Truth in ourselves; and with this we should begin at once, avoiding all suggestion of that personality which is making only trouble for us. Man should perceive only the perfect consciousness, in creatures and things, and that, when he himself is absorbed rightly in Deity, his consciousness cannot be lost. She spoke of the brotherhood of man, in which there is no separation; each individual has the same knowledge of God with others; this knowledge then becomes active peace for one; God sees only the quickening Spirit as life. In our work we must never seek to force results; we should, however, begin with the perfect result, always remembering the creatures' equal consciousness. God is one in his creation; it accordingly can never be evil. Man seems to want something with which to grapple, and in some cases Jesus therefore, when he saw that men believed in temptation, spoke to them from their own standpoint. We should not allow ourselves to be pulled in several directions, nor in any. We should walk tranquilly and peacefully. A genuine experience is divine, eternal, ? one with the Father's work. Be active, even if it be actively bad. We seem to make it necessary to pass through suffering, but we should try to see happiness in others, from our own consciousness of happiness; real love is the infinite joy of life.
