They are first class in every respect, fast, and commanded by the oldest and moat experienced navigators in the North Atlantic service. Passengers by these splendid steamers have the comforts, conveniences, and the luxuries of the best hotel in the land. Cook's Tourists' Tickets are to be recommended to the travelling public. They are available all over the world, and cover all expenses, including hotels. Those contemplating a tour need only call on Messrs. Cook, Son & Jenkins, 261 Broadway, New York, giving the journey they propose, when the price of the tickets will be at once quoted. The tickets, which are sold at handsome redactions, are received by every line of steamers leaving New York. Just now there is considerable talk in marine and mercantile circles about the proposed establishment of a new line of ocean steamers between New York and Liverpool to be known as the "Post-Office Line." It seems that the Government seriously entertain the idea of such a line, and have appointed agents to' estimate the expense of building a fleet of six first-class screw steamers. The vessels are to be fast, and will carry the mails and passengers only. They are to be built in this country, commanded by Americans, and sail under the American flag. The mail service between this country and Europe as at present conducted is far from satisfactory to merchants, as also to the Postmaster-General.
