There is not a single man or woman in this country, I do not care who they are, or where, (hat has lived with their eyes and -ars ope.., who will set down and read the bulletin as issued, but what will feel ashamed that the government of the U. S. will permit for partisan purposes, and certainly there could be no other object in view, the issuance of such a statement which even if as a general proposition it be true, that wages have increased more than the cost of living, the methods of presenting it in the bulletin, and the self-evident intention of misleading the people, is to say the least, not commendable to those who had the work in charge. It has been said that a half truth is worse than a lie, and if it ever applied to anything it applies to the bulletin that has been issued by the Bureau of Labor on the subject of the increase of wages as compared to the increase of living. Where their figures were collected it is hard to tell. I am sure of one thing however, they were not collected from the intelligent trade unionists on this North American continent.
