I have now the honour to inform you that Her Majesty's Government are unable to accept the mouth of the Moroco as the boundary on the coast; they would nevertheless be ready to consider any conventional boundary which the Venezuelan Government may propose commencing at a more northerly point on the coast, and would be glad to be favoured with a general indication of their views, not only on that point, but also as to the general line of frontier which in their opinion might form a basis of negotiation.
