Violent Crime Reduction Bill

The Bill is in four parts with three schedules and includes provisions designed to deal with: i) alcohol-related violence and disorder through the use of drinking banning orders, and the right of local authorities to impose charges on licence holders in alcohol disorder zones: ii) improving regulation of the sale and possession of firearms, imitation firearms and knives, including increasing the legal age for buying knives from 16 to 18 years old; and iii) school-related violence, including the power to search pupils suspected of carrying knives and other weapons.
