The quotations found in the speeches delivered by Premier Wen
Jiaobao had their origin more often than not in the classical
poetry of Chinese literature, and the collection of these poems are
the condensed manifestation of the glorious and long-standing
culture of ancient China.
Premier Wen, busy as he was with a myriad of state affairs,
must have been engaged in regular reading with diligence and care,
which has been shown in his copious references with ease to the
classics in his important speeches, many of which he delivered, off
the cuff. As we are now striving to build up a society emphasizing
the importance of learning, all of us, especially the youngsters,
should develop a habit of reading, make good use of our time
reading more and better books, and read for practical purposes.
