This volume continues publication of the class notes of F. Taylor Ostrander at Williams College, 1929-32. The courses are Principles of Economics, Money and Banking, Public Finance, the Senior Seminar and Review of Political Theory. Also included are two memoranda on Franklin D. Roosevelt, from 1933 and 1945, and a memoir on the founding of the Williams Colllege Liberal Club. F. Taylor Ostrander, now 95 years old, legally blind but possessed of a brilliant and agile mind, was educated at Williams College, Oxford and the University of Chicago during the period 1928-35. He studied under some of the great economists of his day and he studied amongst other students who later were among the leading economists of the post-war period. During World War II he served in several government agencies, ones in which worked other young economists who rose to the top ranks after the war. Several of them became Nobel laureates.
