This training uses patient scenarios to illustrate how the healthcare professional can use information from a drug reference and the specific patient situation to select the best method of administration. It demonstrates the three methods of administration: (1.) direct infusion - when the patient has a medication lock, an infusing IV, or an incompatible intravenous infusion; (2.) intermittent infusion - when the patient has a medication lock or an infusing IV; and (3.) continuous infusion.
