The Wertach originates in the Northern Limestone Alps, in Bad Hindelang, east of Sonthofen (Oberallg u district). It flows north along the towns Wertach, Nesselwang, Marktoberdorf, Kaufbeuren, Schwabm nchen and Bobingen.
