The Cambrian Strata Are most largely developed in Merionethshire, where they occupy a mountainous oval-shaped tract of country extending from Barmouth to Harlech and the neighbourhood of Ffestiniog. They consist of coarse purple and greenish grits, with a few bands of purple slate.
