Fred Abercrombie was born in Montague City, Mass., September 19, 1882, and prepared for college at the Turners Falls (Mass.) High School. He left college in 1903 and went with the Turners Falls Company, becoming engineer of that concern in 1910. In 1911 he became engineer of the Worcester Suburban Company, and at the same time was assistant treasurer of the Turners Falls Company and treasurer of the Franklin Electric Light Company. In 1914 he added to his duties the treasurership of the Montague Company. September 30, 1908, he married Sarah I. Allen of Turners Falls. His only child, Allen, was born July 27, 1913. Fred is a director of the Crocker National Bank of Turners Falls, the McLane Silk Company of the same city, and a member of the Western New England Chamber of Commerce. 2. Philip Torry Allen (B.S. 1907 University of Minnesota) Forester. Manistique, Mich. Petie Allen was born in Marquette, Mich., December 25, 1884, and prepared for college at the Marquette High School. He left Williams in 1903 and was a student during the next two years in three institutions: the University of Minnesota, the North Dakota Agricultural College and the Iowa Agricultural College. Then he managed the Allen Farm--potatoes--in Wolverton, Minn., and entered the government service as assistant at the Agricultural Experiment Station, Yuma, Ariz., and in reclamation work with the United States Forest Service. 1910-1911 he was again a student at the University of Minnesota and newspaper reporter for Twin City papers. In 1912 he entered the Minnesota Forest Service as patrolman and the next year transferred to the Canadian Pacific Forest Service. ...
