Wilton Bogey Gaynair - Africa Calling (CD)

From the 60's. He should have been a contender but left promising UK scene for Germany where he almost disappeared. This is a release of a set which the original Tempo label recorded just before it went bust. It forms a serious addition to recordings for Hard Bop fans. There is another earlier LP called Blue Bogey from '59 but it doesn't appear to be available anywhere. He died in 1995. He was briefly mentioned in the TV programme about British jazz which was networked in 2006 in the UK.
