This hefty volume reports on large scale excavations in Westphalia
which took place between 1999 and 2002, the most specular result of
which was the discovery of five Roman military storehouses, which
were in use during the brief Augustan occupation of the region. A
Germanic settlement was in use from the 1st century AD to c.400,
whilst a further settlement was in use from the 7th to 9th century.
