Young Chul Hong received his M.Div. (1987) from Princeton Theological Seminary, his B.A. (1970) from Kansas State University, and his B.E. (1964) from Yonsei Universityin Korea. He came to the United States as a student in 1968 and worked asa consulting engineer in New Jersey before his career change in 1984. He retired after20 years of ministry, of which thirteen years were working with physically disabledpersons, out of his experience with his daughter's incurable illness. He and his wife, Hong Yeon, raised three children. He holds two U.S. patents: "Electrical Anti-TheftSystem" (1973) and "Gas Range Timer Control" (1973).
