v pehotnyj polk, v kotorom prosluzhil 4 goda. Vyjdya v otstavku,
poselilsya v Kieve, pozdnee pereehal v Peterburg. Pervyj svoj
rasskaz "Poslednij debyut" Kuprin opublikoval v 1889 godu v
"Russkom satiricheskom listke." Pozdnee on sotrudnichal s gazetami
"Zhizn' i iskusstvo" i "Kievskoe slovo." Priehav v Peterburg,
Kuprin stanovitsya redaktorom snachala "Zhurnala dlya vseh," a
pozdnee "Mira Bozh'ego." V Peterburge pisatel' publikuet svoi
naibolee izvestnye veschi: "Poedinok," "Granatovyj braslet."
Povesti "Moloh" i "Olesya" vyshli v Kieve. V 1919 godu Kuprin
emigriroval v Parizh. Tam vyshel v svet roman "Zhanneta," byla
napisana povest' "YUnkera." V 1937 godu Kuprin vernulsya na rodinu
i 25 avgusta 1938 goda umer.
