His attitude is shared by Paddy (Lalor Roddy), a fisherman with a drink habit, who catches a bizarre creature at sea and takes it home with him. The creature and its kin turn out to be aggressive and more than capable of killing, though, strangely, Ciaran and Paddy, both survive direct attacks. Gradually, the surviving islanders come to realise that the consumption of alcohol is the key to defeating the 'grabbers' and duly organise their biggest ever booze binge.
