The strong and continuing increase in airtraffic, the plans to build supersonicair craftsand hypersonicspace-transportsystems, the developments ofhydrogentech nology, andthe generalconcern onglobalchangeshave raised questionson effects of emissions from air traffic on the environment and especially the atmosphere aboveand shortlybelowthe tropopause.
